🍱 Lick Mat + Slow Feeder + Puzzle — in one bowl · Available in Dune, Tan & Fern · Approx. 18cm diameter × 6cm height

The Lambwolf Collective BENTO is a lick mat and slow feeder combined in one thoughtfully designed silicone bowl. Created by a team of dog mums, it turns a ten-second bowl-inhale into ten minutes of focused, calming enrichment — without needing multiple pieces of kit.

A reversible lick mat sits on top of a two-tier slow feeder base. Two different textures on the mat — one easier, one more intricate — mean you can adjust difficulty as your dog builds confidence. Used together or separately, that gives you three ways to feed.

1 Lick Mat Spread wet food, yoghurt, bone broth or raw meals across either mat texture
2 Slow Feeder Use the base alone for raw, freeze-dried or wet meals — ridges and wells slow eating naturally
3 Puzzle Mode Fill the base and cover with the lick mat — your dog licks and nudges to reveal what's underneath
⚠️ Xylitol warning. If using nut butter, always check the label. Xylitol is toxic to dogs and is found in some brands of peanut butter and other spreads.
What is it made of?
  • Food-grade silicone top (reversible lick mat, two textures)
  • Recycled PP slow feeder base
  • BPA free and phthalate free
  • Temperature rated from -40°C to +230°C
  • Freezer safe and dishwasher safe
  • Elevated, weighted base for non-slip stability
  • Corner-free design — no crevices where food can hide
What to fill it with

The BENTO is designed for wet, spreadable and freezable foods.

On the lick mat: plain Greek yoghurt, pumpkin purée, bone broth (frozen), mashed banana, wet food, raw meal mixture, xylitol-free nut butter.

In the slow feeder base: raw meals such as Organic Paws Powerhouse Blend or Original Blend, freeze-dried food, soaked wet meals, warm home-cooked meals once cooled.

For a longer session: fill either surface and freeze for 30–60 minutes before serving. A frozen lick mat can stretch a session from two minutes to twenty — ideal for crate training, grooming days, thunderstorms, or when you need your dog calmly occupied.

Dry kibble is not suitable for the lick mat surfaces — the textures are designed to hold soft and wet foods.

Is this right for my dog?

Great for:

  • Fast eaters who bolt their meals
  • Dogs new to enrichment feeding — the easier mat pattern is a gentle starting point
  • Raw and wet food feeders looking for a more engaging mealtime
  • Anxious dogs — licking is a naturally calming activity
  • Crate training, grooming sessions or any time you need your dog settled
  • Small, medium and most large breeds — the 18cm diameter works well across sizes

Very large breeds with wide muzzles may find the slow feeder wells a little snug — the lick mat surfaces are the better fit for those dogs.

If your dog is new to lick mats

Start simple. Spread a thin layer of plain yoghurt or pumpkin purée on the easier of the two lick mat patterns — no freezing on day one. Let your dog figure out that licking gets a reward.

Once they are confident, progress to the more intricate pattern, then to frozen fills, and finally to puzzle mode with the lick mat placed on top of a filled base. The goal is a calm, rewarding experience — not a frustrating one.

Care instructions

Both the silicone top and recycled PP base are dishwasher safe on a standard cycle. The corner-free design also makes hand washing easy — rinse with warm water and mild detergent.

Store away from direct sunlight to preserve the silicone's colour and flexibility over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it suitable for all dog sizes?
Yes — at approximately 18cm diameter it works well for small, medium and most large breeds. Very large breeds with wide muzzles may find the slow feeder wells snug; the lick mat surfaces work better for those dogs.

Can I freeze it?
Yes. The BENTO is freezer safe down to -40°C. Freezing a filled lick mat is one of the best ways to extend a session into a proper enrichment activity.

Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes — both components are dishwasher safe, and the corner-free design makes hand washing easy too.

How long does a session usually last?
An unfrozen lick mat typically lasts five to ten minutes. A frozen fill can stretch a session to twenty minutes or more.

What is the difference between the three colours?
Dune, Tan and Fern are colour variants of the same product — identical in size, materials and function.
